Real disappointment in Overland Park

Top of the league, coming into Saturday's match, Northland FC (3-1 9 pts) had the opportunity to continue its battle with Woodland (3-1 9pts) for first place.

Unfortunately, that was not to be. Real Overland Park proved to be an opposition Northland could not get past. Time and time again Northland seemed to be the better team on the ball, getting possession, passing along the back, not wasting anytime. It was somewhere in the final third Northland attackers couldn't get through.

Missing for Northland FC were two starting players, in some sense three. Attacker Chris Martin out with an injury, Keeper Jeremy Skinner out with an injury, Austin Gordon Attacker playing Keeper.

Austin played a hell of a game. Stepping between the post, when he typically plays an attacking role. Austin put our number 1 under threat! Save after save. Dive after dive. Austin's theatrics kept Northland in the game time and time again.

Dr. Jacob Jacob's, Northland FC's primary sponsor was in attendance to watch the match. He came down pitch side and talked to Bryce about the match.

Dr.: ...was this a team you should have beat...

Bryce: I believe so. It was shown within the first 20 minutes of the match we are the better team. We had opportunities and just couldn't deliver. They were down to 10 men early and still were the ultimate opportunist scoring 2 more goals. I'm disappointed with the squad today. Coming to Overland Park and not to coming home with three points playing as we did was utterly disappointing.

Northland FC (3-2-0 9 points) now sits 4th in the table tied with Southside (3-2 9pts) and Real Overland Park (3-0 9pts). Just behind on Goal Difference.
